Toward Ecologistic Psychology
ZI Fei
2014, 13(2): 1-8.
Abstract:
By analyzing a series of new developments in psychology, this article probes into the transformation of psychology from the physics metaphor to an ecology paradigm. A series of new psychological fields that appeared in the end of the 20th century have embodied the ecological ideology. Some of the examples are the theory of inter-subjectivity, narrative psychology, transpersonal psychology, positive psychology, evolutionary psychology, social constructionist psychology and so forth. The new developments of traditional psychological fields such as personality psychology, social psychology, and cultural psychology have also been incorporating the ecological viewpoints. The author suggests that all these fields be included in the concept of ecologistic psychology. An ecologistic psychology applies systematic, holistic, and historic views to all fields of psychological inquiries and thus leads to a whole transformation of research paradigm. The construction and development of psychology as a discipline should be directed by ecologistic perfective and should synthesize and reconciliate the divergent approaches and methods such as scientific and humanistic methods, quantitative and qualitative approaches, and behavior observational and introspective methods. Therefore, ecologistic psychology implies an ecologistic view on the understanding of the intrapsychic world, the investigation of the correlations between the inner world and the outer environment, and the adoption the methods for psychological inquiries.

LUO Gui-huan
2014, 13(2): 15-25.
Abstract:
Apple is an ancient fruit in China, with a cultivation history of more than 2 000 years. However, few people have recognized that in different historical periods there are different varieties and names of apple. According to relevant historical sources and archeological information, early apples planted in ancient China were mainly varieties originated in western Xingjiang, which were called Nai (Malus domestica subsp. Chinensis) and Linqin(Malus asiatica). The latter was more favored. Since the Tang Dynasty there appeared some new varieties of apple such as Qiuzi, Bimba, Haihong, and etc. Bimba is a red flesh apple (Malus pumila var. niedzwetzkyana)probably also originated in Xingjiang, whose name comes from the Buddhist sutras. It was favored by people after Yuan Dynasty, and was called Pingguoin short from the Ming Dynasty. Since the second half of 19th century, apples cultivated in China were mainly varieties introduced from western countries. Though with the same name of Pingguo, they were very different from those varieties in ancient China. Meanwhile, names such as Nai, Linqin, and etc, were forgotten gradually. From this case study, we can find that it is not reliable to deduce ancient cultivated plants according to those of the same names today.

Through analysis of the data received from wooden furniture enterprises and association at Dalingshan Town in Guangdong Province, this paper discusses the possible impacts of the EU Timber Regulation on Chinese wooden furniture export enterprises. The study finds that most enterprises have a low degree of cognition of and attention to the EU Timber Regulation and their response to it is rather passive. Most enterprises admit that the EU Timber Regulation helps to combat illegal logging, but they believe it's a new trade barrier on the other hand. The implementation of the EU Timber Regulation will significantly increase the cost of Chinese enterprises to export products to the EU, and reduce their competitive advantage as well as market share in EU market. Finally, the paper puts forward some suggestions for Chinese wooden furniture export enterprises, including improving the enterprises'coping and cognitive abilities, exploring new markets and optimizing the industrial structure.
Influencing Factors of Farmers' Willingness to Construct Bio-energyForest:Taking Jianning County, Fujian Province as an Example
YANG Heng, MI Feng
2014, 13(2): 57-62.
Abstract:
Based on the survey data of Jianning County, Fujian Province, and using Binary Logistic Regression Model, this research explores the factors that influence the farmers'willingness to plant energy trees as well as their behavior mechanisms. The study shows that the education level of the household head, forest land area, the share of forest income in total family income, and expectations about bio- energy forest construction have significant effects. When the head of the household has a high level of education, the household has a large area of forest land, the level of forest income accounts little in the total family income and the farmers are optimistic about bio-energy forest construction, they are more likely to turn their planting willingness into planting behavior. Therefore the government should step up publicity, formulate relevant policies, and provide seedlings and planting training for farmers so as to stabilize their income expectation and reduce their participation risk. The creation of incentive policies can greatly enhance the farmers'participating willingness.

2014, 13(2): 70-74.
Abstract:
It has become more and more evident that forest sequestration sink plays an important role in coping with climate change. Analysis of carbon sequestration policy based on CGE model can provide a solid basis for policy design. The prerequisite of CGE model construction is to build the social accounting matrix (SAM) of the forestry sector. Based on the 2007 Input-Output Tables of China an taking account of other statistical data, this paper compiles the 2007 Chinese social accounting matrix of the forestry sector. This SAM checks the accounts related with the forestry sector, and reasonably estimates the data not included in the statistical yearbook. It can serve as the data basis for the modeling and application of CGE model.

First Exploration of Public and Private Partnership in Wetland Conservation:A Case Study in Fung Lok Wai
QI Fang-ni
2014, 13(2): 99-104.
Abstract:
ung Lok Wai is the precedent of public and private partnership scheme in wetland conservation in Hong Kong, whose developer tried its best in the past 20 years. Apart from some ecological problems like fishpond, noise, birds, and firefly, privatization of wetland and public participation have also become tough problems challenging the developer and the government. The Government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region launched New Nature Conservation Policyin 2004 to encourage cooperation between public and private sectors. The policy listed 12 prior sites to develop and Fung Lok Wai ranked the 9th among them. When others were questioning the effectiveness of public and private partnership in wetland conservation, Fung Lok Wai has gained great attention from both its fans and objectors. The success of Fung Lok Wai has great influence not only on political strategies in Hong Kong but also on wetland management in mainland China. With the drop-out of WWF in May of 2013, the story of Fung Lok Wai has reached the climax. This paper analyzes the design and commercial factors in this project, and puts forward the primary cause which has been delaying this scheme. Land privatization and public participation should be fully considered in wetland conservation, especially under the context of public and private partnership. This paper aims to provide a clear institutional reference for developers and government in Hong Kong as well as mainland China.
