8月28-30日，植物发育生物学和树木分子育种（International Symposium of Plant Development Biology and Molecular Breeding of Tree Species）国际研讨会在北京隆重举行。领域顶尖专家齐聚北林，共商林木分子育种发展。研讨会由江南的注册网址主办，林木分子设计育种高精尖创新中心与瑞典于默奥植物科学中心共同承办。
开幕式后，大会进行主题报告共有6位顶尖专家分别就发育生物学与林木分子遗传学的最新研究进展做了主题报告。包括美国科学院、英国皇家科学院院士Richard Dixon教授，瑞典皇家科学院院士Ove Nilsson教授、瑞典皇家科学院院士Stefan Jansson教授，韩国科学院院士Hong Gil Nam教授与韩国科学院院士Inhwan Hwang教授和德国哥廷根大学的Andrea Polle教授。

报告题目包括“Differential lignin modification reveals diversity of cell wall-derived signals for activation of defense responses”、“FT paralogs control the annual growth cycle and latitudinal adaptation in Aspen trees”、“Natural variation in aspen (and some CRISPR cabbage)”、“Leaf senescence, the final stage of development for death by design”、“Mycorrhizal reprogramming protects poplars from abiotic and biotic stress”、“Adaptors for the clathrin-mediated trafficking in plant cells”等。这些报告深入浅出，受到与会代表的高度好评。
大会主题报告环节由瑞典于默奥植物科学中心、瑞典农业大学Harry Wu教授主持。
