On November 29, the finals of the 8th Beijing Chinese Star Competition for Foreign Students came to an end and was broadcasted on Beijing TV. The competition was launched in March this year, with more than 1,300 contestants from more than 30Beijinguniversities participating. After the audition, preliminary competition, and semi-final selection, 20 students from 14 universities including Beijing Forestry University, Beijing Language and Culture University, and the Renmin University of China were selected as finalists. After fierce competition, KOK KIAN YONG (Chinese nameÑî¹ú½¡) from Malaysia, a postgraduate of the Forestry College of our University, won the honorary title of "Top Ten Chinese Stars".

Since the start of the competition in March, our school has responded positively by organizing the sub-contest area of the Chinese Star Event, with nearly 40 international students participating. After the preliminary rounds-Chinese film dubbing (120 into 60) and semi-finals-short video understanding (60 into 20), the Malaysian student KOK KIAN YONG was finally selected for the final. On the day of the finals, KOK KIAN YONG entered the second session with a perfect score in the "Idiom Flying Flower Order" in the first session-"Telling: That Person is the Most Unforgettable". He vividly showed the deeds of Dr. Liang Yijian, an expert in the correction of severe spinal deformities, which moved a Chinese character. He cleverly combined the storytelling of the characters with the deduction of the situation. He was highly appreciated by the judges and teachers and finally won the honor of "Top Ten Chinese Stars". title. Our Chinese teacher, Ms. Li Mengjun, won the "Chinese Star Tutor", our school won the "Excellent Organization Award", and our school's Turkmenistan student Nazhe won the "Excellent Performance Award".

The Chinese Star Competion label has become the most beautiful voice for telling Chinese stories, spreading Chinese culture, and being a messenger of cultural exchanges.

¡¡It is reported that the "Chinese Star" competition is sponsored by the Beijing Municipal Education Commission and the Beijing Language and Writing Commission, and organized by the Beijing International Promotion Center for Chinese Language. It is held every two years. It is the highest level competition for foreign students in Beijing to learn Chinese. It has been successfully held for 7 sessions since 1999.
