The Beijing Forestry University Library is a library that integrates collection, borrowing and reading, with a comfortable and elegant environment and advanced facilities. One of the key academic libraries implementing the "211 Project".

Newly added majors of the University can also be fully documented. The library has 1,314,500 copies of paper documents and 743,200 copies of electronic documents. It has formed a multidisciplinary book collection system combining science, engineering, literature, management, economics, law, and art with the characteristics of forestry, biology, forestry engineering, ecological environment and gardening, and this can effectively support the construction of disciplines and personnel training.
Every day, the library has senior librarians who are responsible for consultation and "answer all questions". Through various activities such as freshman entrance education and document retrieval course teaching, the library resources are publicized, the readers' understanding of the library is strengthened, and the readers' information quality is improved to form a relatively complete consulting system.
Co-construction and sharing of literature resources. The library participates in the joint construction and sharing of CALIS documents issued by the Ministry of education, and participates in the interlibrary loan consortium of 40 colleges and universities on Xueyuan Road in Beijing.
The opening time of the library is 8:00-22:00; the server is open throughout; online reservation, telephone reservation, overdue reminder, setting up return box, partition of new books, guiding reading and borrowing and other measures are taken to make full use of all kinds of documents.
At present, the library is collecting, supplementing and improving all the books and materials of the forestry industry, striving to build the most complete and complete library of forestry books in China in the near future, and become a library that everyone is familiar with, likes and is satisfied with.
1. Teachers, students and staff of Beijing Forestry University can enter the library with their own library card (without the library card, you can use your student card or teacher card instead). Anyone who uses another person's library card to enter, the library will detain this card for one month. People from outside of the University must present their own identity cards to the card office to apply for a temporary reading card. The fee for the temporary reading card is RMB 2 per day, valid for the day.
2.It is strictly prohibited to carry inflammable and explosive materials, and smoking is prohibited.
3.In order to keep the library clean and prevent rodents, it is prohibited to bring food into the library.
4.Keep quiet and don't make noise.
5.Maintain environmental hygiene, and avoid spitting, throwing paper scraps and debris everywhere.
6.Take good care of books and periodicals and all public property.
7.Abide by the relevant system and regulations of the library.
Notes on borrowing and returning books
1. Teachers, students and staff of Beijing Forestry University shall borrow books and periodicals with their own borrowing cards (the library will detain the card for two months if they borrow books with others' borrowing cards).
2. The library implements the system of reader classification limit and document classification limit for borrowing books, and penalties for overdue books.
3.If there are overdue books that have not been returned, the borrowing will be suspended.
4.The books are not allowed to be taken out of the library without going through the borrowing procedures. Otherwise, punishment will be given according to the relevant regulations of the library, and the student department and the school will be informed.
5.Take good care of books and periodicals, if there are torn pages scratched or loss make a compensation according to the compensation rules.
Electronic Reading room
On the fifth floor of the library, there are two digital resource reading rooms and 392 HP brand computers with high configuration. It undertakes the task of foreign language teaching and provides free browsing and downloading of more than 700,000 electronic resources and reading services of more than 10,000 CDs. On the basis of continuous comprehensive investigation of readers' opinions, the reading room has been divided into functions. Readers can choose different areas according to their learning needs, browse electronic resources, complete professional course assignments, and carry out graduation projects design. The number of readers coming to the reading room every day exceeds 1000.
More than 40 libraries in China have joined the Beijing University Library Consortium. If readers need to borrow books from one of the libraries, they can go to the general service desk on the first floor of the university library to go through the formalities with their own borrowing card, and exchange for the interlibrary loan card of the other library. With this card, you can borrow books from the other party's Library and borrow 3 ordinary Chinese books.
A FTP server is set up in the library to serve the users of campus network. It mainly provides the downloading of common software, learning materials and technological videos, and gives the upload permission to some users.
